First, they turned your donuts into a different dessert. Now they turn your dessert into donuts. Tim Hortons is launching three new Dream Donuts, inspired by three popular Canadian sweets. The new line of flavors now includes Birthday Cake Confetti, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and S’mores.
“We wanted to create an all-new line of premium dream donuts that look amazing and taste even better, and we were inspired by some of Canada’s favorite desserts,” said the Chief Innovation Officer. culinary at Tim Hortons, Tallis Voakes, in a press release.
Perhaps more of a campfire treat than a true blue dessert, the s’more-flavored donut promises a “rich and delicious” chocolate filling paired with marshmallow fudge, according to the same release.
Peanut Butter Cheesecake Dough, a collaboration between Tim Hortons and Reese’s, is stuffed with a cheesecake filling, coated in chocolate fudge, and drizzled with Reese’s Peanut Butter Sauce. Yes, you read that right. It’s cheesecake, but inside a doughnut.
Birthday Cake Confetti, the only flavor not described by Tim Hortons as “rich”, has no filling. Instead, it’s dipped in strawberry fondant and then covered in — you’d never guess — confetti.
Launched in 2020, the Dream Donuts series began with Dulce de Leche Crème, Strawberry Confetti and Chocolate Truffle varieties. While promising, these flavors weren’t always well executed. Disappointing Donuts were appalled when Tim Hortons customers shared images of missing toppings, messy frosting and just plain ugly decorations.
Hopefully these new dreamy desserts fare better than their predecessors.
The three new Dream Donuts are available at Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada. If you prefer to have your dreams come true at home, they are also available for delivery.
