FX has set the premiere date for Dickvillethe half-hour animated comedy series created, written and directed by John Hodgman and David Rees. The new season of Dickville will premiere Thursday, March 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FXX and stream on Hulu. The first and subsequent four episodes on Thursday will each feature two 15-minute segments. That means an even livelier comedy is heading to FX starting next month (available on both cable network and FX on Hulu) with unique animation and absurd jokes in its arsenal.
John Hunchman was once the famous boy detective of Richardsville, North Carolina (“Dicktown” to the locals), but now he’s pushing quarantine and still solving mysteries for teens. David Purefoy, his former bully, is now his driver, his muscle and his only friend. Between hunting for stolen chili cheese recipes and high school mascots gone rogue, John and David never stop trying to solve the biggest mystery: how to grow up. But when a menacing figure bursts into their lives on a strange motorcycle-car, they learn that the past isn’t over with them yet.
The first season of Dickville was part of FX’s third season Cake and is now streaming on Hulu. Some of the brand’s current and legacy titles include dramas American Horror Story, American Crime Story, The Americans, Damages, Fargo, Justified, Nip/Tuck, Pose, Rescue Me, The Shield and Sons of Anarchy; comedies Archer, Atlanta, Better Things, DAVE, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Reservation Dogs and What We Do in the Shadows; and a growing list of docuseries and documentary films. Hodgman and Rees are executive producers of Dickville alongside Archer executive producer Matt Thompson of Floyd County Productions.
