Youngsville High School’s annual summer luncheon for graduates age 50 or older will be held Tuesday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Station.
The guests of honor are the promotion of 1971 with the welcome classes, 1969 and 1970. The former students present are asked to bring a dish on the way. Sandwiches, cakes, drinks and table service will be provided.
Welcome to YHS graduating classes of 1971 and earlier, as well as visiting and past faculty. Bring memorabilia to share.
On Wednesday, Rebecca Whitney will hold three separate career development workshops at the Youngsville Public Library.
The first workshop runs from noon to 1 p.m. and is an open, walk-in Q&A session. Attendees can ask custom questions about job searches, PA CareerLink, free job training opportunities, and more. No registration necessary.
From 1 to 2 p.m., Whitney will discuss SkillUP PA in an in-person session. Walk-ins are welcome. SkillUP PA provides access to over 6,000 free online training courses to help you prepare for a new career path, improve an existing skill set, and more. Stop by for one-on-one assistance on how to register, navigate and use SkillUP PA.

A three-part summer program beginning Tuesday will provide hands-on learning about plants and their pollinating friends.
The program is aimed at people between the ages of 5 and 18, but all are welcome. The Youngsville Public Library partners with Warren County 4-H and will present the Plants and Pollinators Program at the main Island Park Lodge from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, July 19, July 26, and August 2.
The program is free and no registration required. Programming takes place rain or shine. Participants are not required to attend each of the three programs offered in the tghe series.

Free City of Warren Music in the Park at 7 p.m. Fridays at Soldiers & Sailors Park will feature “Temple Gray performing soft rock on July 15 and Smokehouse performing classic rock on July 22.
Free Youngsville Music in the Park on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Island Park will feature Backlog on July 21 and Aaron Reinard. Island Park’s Summer Musical Series is presented by Youngsville Recreation.
The Sons of the American Legion of Youngsville is hosting a Chicken BBQ today from noon while supplies last. The barbecue is at the Youngsville American Legion, 10 N. Main St. and costs $12 per meal.
Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23, the Youngsville Sports Boosters will host their Sports Boosters Jubilee at Youngsville Fire Hall. There will be a cornhole tournament, duck derby, food vendors and live entertainment. There will also be a children’s carnival and parade on July 23 starting at 3 p.m.
GOLF BY WARREN MAJENGO
The local nonprofit Warren Majengo Foundation will hold its second annual golf tournament on Sunday, July 17, following a successful first year in 2021. The organization’s mission is “to provide stability, security and support for the Majengo Children’s Home and other worthwhile educational, economic and philanthropic causes in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania.” Majengo supports more than 200 children in the Tanzanian community.
The second annual tournament will take place at Conewango Valley Country Club on Sunday July 17th. Tickets are $80 per person and include green fees (four-person scrum), cart, lunch, drinks, dinner and prize money.
