Donut shop in Elizabethtown serving treats, an opportunity for people with disabilities
A donut, an artisan coffee and an opportunity for those in need is what a business is providing the community of Elizabethtown.Hole Lotta Love Donuts on Ring Road provide jobs for people with disabilities like Down Syndrome and autism. Co-owner Jon Anderson has a son, Kade, who has Down syndrome. Anderson says that as his family spent time in the Down syndrome community, he noticed that there just weren’t many job opportunities. we wanted to start a business,” Anderson said. A year later, Hole Lotta Love Donuts was launched. The store opened on Monday, which was also World Down Syndrome Day. Since opening, the store has sold donuts every day. Co-owner Brannon Dupree says the community support has been overwhelming in the best way and they plan to hire more staff. The shop offers all the classic donuts, like glazed, chocolate, and jelly-filled, but also plans to roll out new custom flavors. Flavors such as Peanut Butter and Jelly, Key Lime Pie, Banana Custard and Chocolate Cake are in the works. Hole Lotta Love Donuts proudly serve Baxter Coffee, roasted in Somerset.
