William Hanson, the UK’s foremost etiquette expert and coach, shared his tips for mastering the perfect street party: “Street parties can be a great way to boost neighborhood morale and build community spirit. After two relatively reclusive years, the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will have added luster.
“As with any form of entertainment, quality is always better than quantity. A well-organized street party held for over two and a half hours filled with essentials, savory treats, entertainment and alcohol – but in constant supply – will make for a perfect day out with family and neighbors. And don’t forget the bunting!
“But remember, chatting about The Jones is a ‘no no’ and please watch your P’s and Q’s. You’ll be in the company of people of all ages, from children to elderly neighbors, so good manners and the best behavior are essential.
Besides street parties, the nation is considering other ways to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, including watching the concert (25%) and “Trooping the Color” (22%) on television. While almost a fifth (18%) plan to head to the pub with friends and family, while 15% travel to central London to experience the celebrations in person.
To celebrate the platinum jubilee, Samsung today launched pre-orders until the 22n/a May of a range of limited edition Bespoke Jubilee fridge-freezers with panels displaying the quintessentially British Union Jack.
