Danish smørrebrød, Vietnamese salad rolls, scotch eggs – the 20 best recipes for outdoor dining | Food

A easy outdoor eating feast. Perfect for you, for friends, for family. For the Jubilee weekend if the weather holds. Outdoor recipes to mix and match, eat together anywhere. Presentation of smørrebrød by Trine Hahnemann, summer rolls by Uyen Luu, sun salad by Yasmin Khan. There’s Nathan Outlaw’s grilled mackerel, Tom Kerridge’s pork burgers and Samin Nosrat’s kufte skewers. To finish: Simon Hopkinson’s currant pie or Nigel Slater’s succulent ice cream sandwiches. Maybe bring some sunscreen, just in case.

Open-faced sandwiches can be topped with anything, but seasonal ingredients such as radishes, pea shoots, new potatoes, and tomatoes have the best flavors.

Filled with fresh leaves and herbs, plus Vietnamese specialties such as pork or shrimp, these rolls can be as simple or as inventive as you want.
