Just days ago, the latest location for Capt’n Chucky’s Crab Cakes opened in Runnemede NJ, and 42Freeway stopped by to check out the new specialty seafood market.
According to the owners of Runnemede, this is how they describe Capt’n Chucky’s offerings.
We are committed to providing the finest selection of flavorful seafood dishes, including award-winning crab cakes, wild steamed shrimp, soups, specialty appetizers, and complimentary sides and salads.
We first announced that Capt’n Chuck’ys is returning in October in a “Runnemede Round-up” of 3 new restaurants in town.
Capt’n Chucky’s Crab Cake in Runnemede is located at 754 W. Clements Bridge Road in the building that was formerly Gerace Jewelers.
It’s this busy intersection that descends as you get closer to Deptford and Sam’s Club, which also offers Timber Creek Liquors and 7-Eleven.
Capt’n Chucky’s is a daytime market, and their hours are never after 6 p.m. I wanted to get this out early in case you decide to stop. More information on hours and offers below!

Local freshness, reheat and eat at home!
During my visit last week, I picked up colossal crab cakes, monster stuffed shrimp and a quart of Manhattan clam chowder.
I brought them home, heated everything up and… Wow! Everything was really delicious and fresh!
Now, I’m not a critic…at least in writing. Maybe I’ll do more with YouTube video reviews in the future.
I can tell the colossal crab cake was loaded with crabmeat, had a nice crispy crust, and a softer, more tender interior. Reheating at home made this as freshly made as possible!
The clam chowder reminded me of the Manhattan clam chowder my family used to buy when I was a kid! Mmmmm!

Capt’n Chucky’s describes itself as a marketplace…and they sure are.
So, as you just read, they also offer delicious locally prepared seafood such as crab cakes, stuffed shrimp, soups and more!
I mean “crab cakes” is in the name, so of course they have them!

But it’s not a restaurant and there are no fryers or ovens in the store.
So when you buy some of their delicious Capt’n Chucky crab cakes, clam chowders, or other items, you take them home to reheat.
Which guarantees you the best and freshest dining experience at home.
And Capt’n Chucky’s makes it easy. The fresh crab cakes and stuffed shrimp we bought last week had the simple heating instructions right on the container…
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
Peezy easy.
Quick to heat up, you’re guaranteed to get a perfectly warm crab cake or other seafood specialty right at your doorstep!

Runnemede Location Details
As mentioned, Runnemede’s new location is at an intersection where 4 busy roads meet… Route 41, Clements Bridge Road, Evesham Road and Station Ave.
The building has been revamped and inside there is plenty of room for customers and the Capt’n Chucky line of merchandise.
After entering, the first thing you notice is the register area and glass refrigerated display case… where freshly made crab cakes, stuffed shrimp, macaroni and cheese, shrimp and crab rolls, salads and more still are preserved.

Like a bakery or other seafood market, these items require the help of Capt’n Chucky’s staff to pack.
On the right side wall is a quick set refrigerated unit where soups, crabmeat, sauces and their Crab Bowl…which is a crab dip made with crabmeat, cream sauce with seasoned cheese… in an Italian pub bread!
On the last wall are several glass freezer units where you can find Talluto’s pasta and meatballs (linguini, ravioli, stuffed shells, gnocchi and more, lobster tail, clams, a variety of soups from Capt’ n Chucky.

They even offer Stock’s Bakery desserts from Lehigh Ave Philadelphia and a variety of breads from Marchiano’s Bakery!

I mentioned the Wojciehowski family.
Nancy and Chuck trace their restaurant roots back to the 70s, with a long streak of owning 5 restaurants in Arizona.
They returned to the Philadelphia area in the late 80s to open another full restaurant.
But in 2001, they decided to focus on some of their best-selling recipes…with crab cakes, which seems like a winning plan!
