Bacon ice cream has long been a dream of Ron Swanson fans. The “Parks and Recreation” character is famous for his love of breakfast and the phrase, “Give me all the bacon and eggs you’ve got.” In 2011, he inspired a photoshopped flavor of Ben & Jerry’s called All of the Bacon & Eggs You Have, which fans hoped was real. Unfortunately, Ben & Jerry’s didn’t make it a reality for us, probably because the bacon isn’t kosher while most of their other ingredients are. However, Today reached out to ice cream makers for their thoughts, and they shared a good-natured response about Swanson getting their desserts just right.
The Bacon Wiki, however, has made bacon ice cream a reality, and we’re ecstatic about it. The ice cream is a delicious combination of homemade vanilla rum ice cream with bits of candied bacon throughout the frozen dessert. Ice cream with booze and bacon? Now that’s a food that Ron Swanson can get.
An even simpler option is available, however. All you need is a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce and some candied bacon to sprinkle on top. Stir it with your spoon and revel in the frozen bacon goodness.
